From the recording Distant Starlight
Another piece in remembrance of my lovely grandfather, Ernest. On hot summer nights when it was impossible to sleep inside, we would lie out on the back lawn on a blanket and look at the deep, bright, teeming sky and listen intently to the silence. It was a simple, direct, perfect time. Though it and he are gone, the sky is still there... and it reminds me that some things don't change all that much... and that he is never far away. This track is on my second CD 'Scenes from the Neighbourhood'.
